Minimum Wage Increase - January 1, 2024
On December 1, Cook County issued a notice to employees regarding the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO). Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum wage for non-tipped workers increases to $14.00 and the minimum wage for tipped workers increases to $8.40. These increases are required in alignment with the Illinois State minimum wage.

This opportunity will provide financial relief up to $30,000 to businesses that started during the pandemic in the industries most impacted by the pandemic.

SBA Business Recovery Centers to Close Permanently in Illinois
The U.S. Small Business Administration announced it is permanently closing its four Business Recovery Centers in Illinois on Tuesday, November 7. SBA opened the centers to assist Illinois businesses and residents affected by severe storms and flooding which occurred during June 29-July 2, 2023.

SBA Opens Fourth Business Recovery Center in Illinois
ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced today it will open a fourth Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Cook County at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the Office of the County Commissioner. SBA is opening the Center to assist Illinois businesses with losses due to severe storms and flooding that occurred from June 29 through July 2.
