Two $1000 scholarships, one for education and one for entrepreneurship.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR EDUCATION

Eligibility: Any graduating senior who will be continuing his/her education, and/or training and is a permanent resident in Lincolnwood, Illinois, or who is an immediate family member of a Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce & Industry member in good standing. 

Scholarship: The Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce & Industry will award one scholarship of $1000. The recipient must be continuing their education at a two-year or four-year institute of higher learning.

Criteria:

  • Essay of 500 to 700 words on the assigned topic. (SEE BELOW)

  • One letter from an adult reference; it may be from someone in the school and/or community and should not be related to the applicant.

Embracing Innovation and Leadership: How Will Your Education Shape Your Future and Impact Your Community? In your essay, discuss your career aspirations and how your continued education or training will help you achieve them. Share how you have demonstrated leadership, innovation, or community involvement and how you plan to use your skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in your chosen field and the Lincolnwood community. Essays should be well-organized, thoughtful, and provide a clear vision of your future goals.

Deadline: All completed applications and materials must be sent to the Lincolnwood Chamber of Commerce by April 1, 2025.

Selection: The Scholarship Committee will review only complete application packages. The appointed members of the committee will select winning recipients based on all criteria mentioned above. 

Notification of winner will be made no later than April 15, 2025 and Payment  Notification will be made no later than May 1, 2025, to the scholarship recipients and high school guidance counselor. Payment is made upon receipt of the class schedule for continuing education courses within one year of the application date.
